Mastermind

I first learned what a mastermind was when I read the seminal book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
Hill describes a mastermind as the "fifth mind" or the "other mind". If four people meet regularly to discuss their goals, whatever they may be, the shared time, input, and dialog creates a "fifth mind" -- a mind that is the sum of those attending to some exponential power. More intuitive, with deeper intellect and expertise, more knowing; than the individual members of the group.
As such, individual members benefit from this higher mind, gaining insights, otherwise, they would not have known.
At one point in my life, I affiliated with the International Mastermind Association (IMA), founded by Ann McNeill. Her organization, as of this writing, conducts a weekly podcast that breaks down Hill's concepts into an action plan to achieve the life you desire.
The thing I love most about IMA and Ann's work, is that it isn't hocus pocus. Hill's concepts, to me at first, sat in the space of metaphysics. My analytical mind was challenged. Ann's approach bridges the gap (at least for me). Turning what I once felt was too esoteric and lofty, into something tactical and practical, within my reach.
Since the early days of skepticism, I co-launched and co-coordinated the AMPS* mastermind group. The majority of the members in the group felt it accelerated their intention and execution. Some were on the journey of becoming a published author, others were launching or clarifying their businesses.
When the group disbanded, as the original initiator, I was asked often to start the group back up. The second group never manifested.
For some time, I could not understand why the second group could not get going.
In retrospect, now, I understand, being a part of a mastermind demands a certain level of transparency (albeit, the goal of individual groups are different). If, members are not ready (if you are not ready) synergy stalls. Without synergy and cohesion there is no way for the group to establish trust, gel, grow, and move forward.
With those lessons learned under my belt, I am now open and ready to be a part of another group as I build my business, create excellence in my life, and strive to help others along the way.
If this is something that you are interested in, contact me, let's talk about it.
