Creativity Comes in All Shapes and Sizes

When I was in the fifth or sixth grade, I had an art teacher, a man. I don't remember his name. And I vaguely recall his face. But, I do remember the clay pots we made once. And, right there in the classroom we had an oven to bake our creations in. After decking them out with the colors of our choice.

My eyes were probably as big as a dinner plate when I saw my ashtray for my mom, with bursts of color on the sides.

I do remember thinking to myself "I made this with my own hands and imagination!"

After that experience, I liked my teacher a little more.

That was the first time I think I ever thought of myself as creative.

But, growing up, somehow, snatches that type of spirit out of you.

As an adult, for the longest time, I refused to refer to myself as a "creative". Always saying things like "I envy creatives. The way they're able to bring works of art to life via their imaginations."

Thank goodness, slowly, but surely I finally realized and accepted that creativity comes in all shapes and sizes.

And, my creative size is just fine.

And, so is yours.

Embrace it fully (whatever it is) and share your magic with the world.

Don't be selfish and die with your creative magic locked inside of you.

Embrace it and share it with the rest of us.

When you do, the world will be a better place for it.
